10 works. 10 artists. 10 years.

On the occasion of STWST48x10, STWST48's 10th edition of its annual 48-hour non-stop showcase extravaganza, we bring up 10 significant art works/events from STWST's 45 year archive and invite 10 artists/spaces/collectives to correspond with 10 works from their own or larger media field's archive.

Stadtwerkstatt (STWST) is a cultural center in Linz, Austria, which was founded as an artists' collective in 1979. Since the 1980s it has shaped media history with significant projects in new art contexts, discursive media with the engagement in hacktivism, open culture and critical engineering. STWST48 started in 2015 has served as a platform to showcase STWST and its associated local artists while inviting international perspective into a networked society that focuses on self-declared, uncompromised, unmediated, ever contradictory media art practices.

10x10x10 of Media Art (with an attitude) presents 10 works from STWST archive, 100 works from 10 correspondants on the occasion of STWST48x10 will be presented on STWST website and projected on large screen with a dinner performance joined by STWST's own 48 hour non-stop cooking crews and the artists/spaces/collectives who contributed the works.
